The pursuit of happiness:
It was a glorious moment in Benji-dom, only Orange County Hunter can really do it justice. I understand you're american, you can read, his helmet says Bounty Hunter. Please yourself, but only O County Hunter as seen here, can really give you a glimpse of the greatness of the event:

You can see the pieces coming together on Benji's first sail: crew Benji. Special helper on the day: Chazz (faw'dean, ie, aged 14).
Process: board ferry at church point ($10 one way) to Hall's Wharf at Morning Bay. Meet Ariadne*, I believe that's the correct spelling, it's like the Greek lady with the Minotaur. Catch up with her son Chaz, boat out with Chaz on his boat to the Red Herring. Raise the mainsail. Sail, alone. Chaz nearby on his motorboat providing moral support. Motor off, mainsail up, slowly depart Morning Bay, bid adieu to Chaz, son of Ariadne.
Sail across Pittwater towards Avalon. It's racing day, forty plus yachts on the water. One of the greatest days of my life I can recall. I can see sailing is going to make me happy. Conditions, sunny and beautiful, light winds.
Also I listened to White Fang narrated on YouTube on the drive. There's no actual car access to Morning Bay, it's only a closed private road there for firefighters or the like, no public access. The houses at Morning Bay are a glimpse of paradise. One of Ariadne's neighbors has two Tibetan spaniel dogs. It's going to be pretty darn amazing listening to White Fang narrated on the Red Herring, that's going to be ideal while sailing. I love sailing my boat, alone, that's absolute joy.
Buses 199 then 156 from Avalon back to church point.... from whence the journey on the water began....
White Fang, chapter 7: audiobook free on YouTube. A beautiful american novel.... Maybe the best.
