While major passenger airlines have wisely realized to avoid Ukraine's airspace (and should avoid Russia's too), Russia remains more or less unblamed and forgotten for it's downing of Malaysian airlines flight from Holland some years ago. Meanwhile Russia's air force is showing unchallenged supremacy over Ukraine and Russia appears to be following through on their 'demilitarization' of Ukraine, which currently seems to be focused on incapacitating Ukraine's air defenses, including radar and military airspaces (mostly on the ground ATM). It does not look like Ukraine will be floating much around apart from a surrender flag anytime soon.
Tanks. With air superiority, it's difficult to imagine Ukraine's tanks standing a chance from aerial bombardment. From my understanding, Ukraine's only chances lie in actually using any defensive missile technology America spent on them, which Russia's military must be hoping to claim for themselves, Taliban like. It will be another Pyrhic victory for Joe Biden.
I remember my first time in America, I think right after 9/11, playing indoor soccer at VCU (in Richmond VA) university and being laughed at by some sheilas in the bleachers for my dopey plays. So hey, that's life.
The half of Ukraine that doesn't want to be with Russia is currently gridlocked in traffic heading out of Kiev, kind of going nowhere.
