IS bombs over 100 Kurds in Ankara. Awkward: The Turkish majority and government don't like Kurds, but throw a glass of punch in your face don't like, not suicide bomb don't like ... Well, actually, since Turkey threw in their lot into Syria / Iraq two months ago, they have been bombing Kurds (pkk) the same as the Russians have been bombing anti-Assad terrorists. So maybe the Turkish government dislikes the Kurdish IS victims in Ankara more than just throw a glass of punch in your face dislike level.
TOWs are effective anti tank anti armored vehicle weapons. Saudi bought 13,000 of them from America last year and apparently the anti Assad rebels around Hama that the Russians are bombing are using them with great effect to repel Assad's army. Remember when da Vinci designed some war machine which was effectively a giant machete rigged to something like a catapult which you'd place at the road entering a city to repel attacks? Haven't we come along way since then!
anyway, the point is, technology has not been developed to arm a nation's war planes with some kind of beacon that can stop that same nation's anti warplane missiles from knocking it out. Case in point, you'd imagine the CIA have secretly contacted their Saudi buddies and said: Don't provide anti aircraft missiles to your Sunni buddies in Syria! Isn't that funny? Both American side and Saudi side would love to knock a Russian fighter plane or two out of the sky but those same missiles could be used on their own planes. You would think it would be standard design that an American made anti aircraft missile couldn't hit an American warplane due to built in technology. I mean a lot of these missiles work on radar/ homing devices.
there's actually an English company selling anti drone technology for 1.2 million dollars per unit. It jams the drones radio frequency causing it to fall out of the sky. Effective around six kilometers. You would think this technology could be used to great effect in Syria but of course America and Russia are super powers and don't want to destroy each others' drones.
