once upon a time in mexico

ok, so continuing on that flight of fancy begun in the previous posting, on that journey to north america, mexico, some indian kid and i arrived from somewhere in the pacific ocean in a zeppelin (a dirigible) no less, and the first port of call was 'Chiapas', near the border to Guatemala.... we found some building signposted: 'zetas christian centre' so we went in there and asked them if they were like something to do with mushrooms as we'd heard that zetas are like mushrooms in spanish or else if they were the catherine zeta jones fan club and whatever happened to her anyway and if she's still married to michael douglas and what's going on with her career, one of the guys there, Raul, said he was a narco-traficante, whatever that is, and we had a great old chat about catherine zeta jones, he explained that they were a christian organization and translated the sign beneath the original sign he'd showed us, which read in full: zetas centro cristiano, si su ojo le ofiende, quiteselo, y si no puede, le ayudaremos.... the translation to that was: zetas christian centre, if your eye offends you, pluck it out, and if you can't, we'll help you....

in other news, the associated press publish an article about the religious/scientific beliefs of a republican politician on the U.S. Govt. House Committee on Science, Space and Technology. The Associated Press do not attribute the article to any one journalist in particular nor are they available for immediate comment. Neither the american right with their dead-letter biblical subscriptions, nor the left, with their absurdist claims that asians and africans and caucasians were all evolved from monkeys! (ludicrousness born from apathy) can be said to approach, let's say, Vedic science or Reality/Truth, in their cosmological assertions.
