Eyeballing your Bible Guidos.... New section .... Plus cancel culture, should we cancel Herod and Herodias

Ok so about three and a half years after seeing all that dust from the WTC still caked thick on news kiosks and the smoke of defeat still wafting the air in October or late September 2001, I returned to Manhattan to learn the following:

New Yorkers reckon with 'guidos' and they don't 'look' and 'see' but 'eyeball' stuff.

With that in mind, let's consider a new section on the Beji [sic] blog, eyeballing your Bible Guidos.

Herod and Herodias, watch this video:

https://youtu.be/bp3VeLCMGAc

In the gospels Jesus insinuates that Elijah was born again as John the Baptist. Modern Christians are notoriously flakey about what the Koran refers to as physical resurrection being a promise God has made that God is beholden to. Therefore modern Christians will come up with the most diverse and flakey explanations about spirit of this and that. But the gospels are very clear, Elijah returned as John the Baptist.

Now if you watch the video you can see that Herod and Herodias are tyrannical Jewish leaders and Herodias famously asks for John the Baptist's head on a platter.

Obviously the Bible would never say this Herod returned as Joseph Goebbels. But the bible probably would give you a way of reckoning the centuries between Elijah and John the Baptist.

Cancel culture:

Recently, 'Coon' brand cheese in Australia got cancelled. Now it is branded as 'Cheer'. A victory for anti Coon forces.

As yet no-one has succeeded in cancelling Herodias from the bible, notwithstanding her ability to cancel John the Baptist's body from the neck down. Explain in one or two pages.

Consider this Australian TV show, Kingswood Country.

Spot the guido and consider and write in two pages how it might have stoked anti Greek sentiment in Melbourne, Australia, the city with the second most Greeks after Athens. Consider the festering resentment amongst the Guidos and how said Guidos might have channeled it. Mention areas like 'Clyde'.
