Yet another person to admire: Laura Dekker, sailor par excellence

Ok so apart from my grandmother Piedad, and all those other swell folks I just mentioned, who I really admire actually, is Laura:

Look at her go:

She sails around the world at 16 or less. And really in the most primitive, simple of boats. No water maker, just catching rain in buckets. Had a little motor, hardly ever uses it. Cheap sails rip, no problem. She makes it look so easy and so enjoyable. I really think I can learn alot watching this girl. If she can do it, then I can do it. That's the bottom line.

Man I love Laura's passion for sailing and her ability. And her spirit. And she's easy on the eye too.

By this time next week I'll have done a third of my sailing course and have spent the whole weekend sailing. Also on a yacht a lot bigger than Laura's. Actually her bigger boat Guppy is a lot better than the one she sailed the world in as a 16 year old. When I was 16 I went to Jim Morrison's grave alone. I think I'm going to love sailing.... Better queue the MTV:

Look there she is all grown up, she got married, had kids and got a bigger boat. A woman that knows what she wants and loves to be on the water...
