JC: "look at David, he's ripped, you're fat Benji"..... Benji: "shut up, it's false!"..... David: "don't talk to Jesus like that Benji".... Benji: "put some pants on" |
hey so what an optical illusion in that picture above, right? like i could actually look that fat???? what's going on??? must be something to do with the lighting like a shadow effect or something, go figure......
anyway: let's review this 2007 documentary on a battle in afghanistan in 2002............ by discovery channel - find it here on imdb.com:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1117467/plotsummary?ref_=tt_ov_pl
this is an absolutely fascinating documentary, extremely well made and absolutely riveting TV........... while my little brain cannot remember every detail, it seems some american choppers around march 2002 are flying around extremely mountainous terrain using some fancy heat-detecting from 5 miles away technology to fathom who, if anyone, is on some random remote mountain............ turns out there are all kinds of afghani taliban types and when an american chopper goes to land on the mountain top, guess what? the afghani taliban, al-qaeda types aren't running outside offering coffee and cake!
hard to believe? in fact, they're so against having a mix-n-match cake sale with their visiting buddies, they decide to let loose with some RPGs, mortars and heavy machine guns, guess someone must have had a grumpy decade fighting the russians! doh!
so then one chinook goes down and a fire-fight commences, anyway, you just got to watch it, it's totally must see TV! maybe will watch it again now............ sure wish there were more documentaries like this one, it's 10 out of 10, also features very sophisticated film-making techniques
- Detailing the March 2002 battle of Takur Ghar in southeastern Afghanistan, when a group of US Special Forces came under attack from Al Qaeda fighters while trying to secure a remote mountain-top observation point, leading to an ill-fated and dramatic rescue mission. Seven soldiers lost their lives in what is considered one of the bloodiest battles for U.S. forces in the Afghan war. These dramatic events are shown through key first-hand accounts, reconstructed drama, advanced CGI and archive footage.
