hey sorry, we keep returning, morbidly perhaps, on this blog to the gnawing, unpleasant idea of Nietzsche's, that we wish wasn't true: that we are embarking on the epic of the 'last man' before the superman. This last man could be with us for many long millennia, blinking and saying, "we have created happiness", then blinks again. Is my thinking limited? If only it were.... If only we aren't staring a reality of mediocre stupidity face to face.
Nietzsche predicts a future where people willingly hand themselves in to the madhouses, possibly because of being ruined by climate change, an "ineradicable parasite", are his words. Where are the smart people? Where's the teamwork, I'm not seeing them anywhere, not even on the internet. Where is the meritocracy.
how much has changed since that guy in ancient Greece walked around with a lantern looking for an honest person? Who would an honest person relate with? Who wouldn't have her for an idiot.
"no-one to lead, no-one to follow," this is Nietzsche's sure fire way to recognize the last man. This is a daily reality in today's world.
"too much trouble getting rich", the man says... Are we facing a socialist future?
if there is a reason for sensing hopelessness, what could be worse than democracy everywhere, mediocrity everywhere. Global insurance for global climate change.
somehow Nietzsche's future prediction seems to be a reality already, at least in the west. And china doesn't seem far behind. I don't know, all I have is my bitch western mindset. Maybe I made the wrong choices in my life, but regardless, the future looks bleak, or "happy" as they say. And then blink.
