'sup bitches? today's shift was aborted before halfway point and tow truck came and took me back to base........
tow truck driver, after asking him if he's married, says he's a widower with four kids aged 4 to 14 or thereabouts, possibly all boys, his wife died approx. 6 years ago of some kind of brain cancer while she was pregnant with last kid which complicates chemotherapy efforts..... says he doesn't want to re-marry
made me see my petty problems (whiney about quality of wifey, etc) in a different light......... also reminds me of story in the Bible about the blind kid or whatever and Jesus' disciples ask who is at fault, the kid (through an error made in a previous lifetime) or the parents'...... as if the blindness were a punishment to one or the others....... the answer always sounds so lame and like such a copout: neither, but that the works of God be made known, or sthmg like that...... we suppose this is meant to mean that bad things can happen to good people, not as a punishment for something bad done, but as a manifestation of something that the most amount of people can evolve from
sorry to get all Biblical like that........ they're interesting stories
