My father often told me: 'you are going backwards'. I could never really see the truth in that as applied to myself personally as an individual, although perhaps my teenage pot smoking was somehow involved. I tend to just think he was wrong.
My father's father nicknamed him Gary after seeing a Gary Cooper movie like before the 60s. The nickname stuck, although Spanish language has no 'a' sound like in Apple, so it just gets said as an E like in egg: Gueri. I mean asshole would have been a better nickname.
Or even forward moving asshole. Anyway I got stuck with more inglorious Basterds stuck to the bottom of my psychic shoes, as it were. The projector scene with french speaking Fredrick and the scalping scene with Pitt.
I'd say Tarantino has been progressively going backwards since kill bill with more rapidity but definitely backwards since pulp fiction. Anyway this movie looks so backwards, why couldn't he just make it three minutes long and just a dopey dance number to a pop song or something, save everyone the trouble.
Regarding Pitt and DiCaprio, I can't honestly say they've ever gone forwards their entire lives, if I find out they did you'll be the first to learn about it here.
'sometimes I think you're mentally retarded', another one of my father's favorite expressions that seems to apply to the aforementioned three dummies: Tarantino, Pitt and DiCaprio.
