Normally if you think of the king of Saudi Arabia you'd think of his damaged reputation, cracking down internally, having Kashogi assassinated. Anyway here he is pushing forward with the solar dome. This is a first time industrialized attempt run by Saudi Arabia at an exciting and cheap and ingenious English invented way at desalinization, carbon neutral:

Water flows in glass, sun heated ducts from sea to the solar dome. The glass of the dome is heated by the sun. The saltwater evaporates, the salt free condensed air turns into water and drains into pipes, salt free, off it goes. Biggest challenge, the remaining supersalty water (brine) can damage marine life on return to water (it's heavy, it sinks).
