can you imagine never having been able to ride a skateboard properly and then jumping onto a new and different kind of skateboard (40 inch longboard) and riding like you've been riding your entire life????
I had that tremendous experience today! Just for a lark, jumped on a longboard at Kmart and astounded or at least was really surprised to be SWOOPING GRACEFULLY on my board!!! Of course I bought it, it's my wife's birthday present to me for may 16, ill be a whopping 39 years old
let me tell you, before I rocketed up to six feet tall around age fourteen and my legs got a little rickety at that point (nothing too serious).... I had excellent straight legs and was an extremely talented roller skater. For example, one time as a ten year old or so, with some older kids, we held on to the back of an ice cream van that was going from cul-de-sac to cul-de-sac, the van driver was annoyed and took off at around 40 miles an hour and we just rode along holding on to it with our roller skates on the street.... After going a little rickety (nothing too serious), I never could ride so well, although can still ride ice and roller skates and rollerblades.... Anyway, I am so thrilled to be swooping gracefully on four iddy biddy roller wheels again
I could never kick ride a board real well but my board, which I hearby dub SWOOPING GRACEFULLY: roll forward SWOOPING GRACEFULLY you are now an official and highly esteemed possession of the order of Benji....
my board is so comfy the way it rolls and rocks atop.it's wheels, it's very swivelly, not like a regular board... It's kind of shaped like a fish, wider at the head then narrowing towards the tail.... The way it bends and swivels on the board, I can't fall off! I can't believe the control I have on it, before today it was always a matter of when would I fall off a board... It's like a miracle! I feel like the crippled guy Jesus healed and he just walked off! Maybe Jesus did this for me coz I had been obsessing about him, or coz of my faith In Ellen DeGeneres and Nancy faghag Odell
anyway I'm so happy to be able to ride a skateboard for the first time in my life, ill end up making a little short film on it, ill even edit in odell barking in my movie
I missed out on this my entire teenage years coz I just couldn't ride a board at alll.... Probably just coz there were no longboards like the one I have now..... Happy happy joy joy!
