HOWDY partners..... today was a big day, wifi did her australian citizenship ceremony today and i recall checking the news and seeing carli fiorino is running for president in the u.s. too........ i'm interested in Fiorino and we'll get to that in a moment.......... we left the ceremony early, i'm guessing before everyone sang the national anthem..... since my wife doesn't know it i sang it for her in the car.... i tried to do it a second time but i couldn't sing it without being emotionally moved to tears, for some reason, not sure why......... it's a good song though..... i was talking to one of my taxi customers today, she was noticeably half australian aboriginal looking half european looking, turned out she was half scot half australian aboriginal.....she told me her grandmother was a 'comfort woman' for some important scottish guy in australia --- a 'comfort woman' being a euphemism for indentured sex slave i guess........... anyway, i thought it might be interesting to scan some images just now, so i did..... right after the ceremony we made a bee line to the post office to apply for Scarlet's australian passport.... and get an application for my wife too as she is now entitled to an australian passport as well.... i'll probably get alex and scarlet spanish passports soon too........... scarlet's passport photo, i got that taken about a week ago, it's real cute............ the sun just come out here in sydney after seemingly dissappearing behind clouds for about two weeks or more............

this is a californian driver's license i have........... i actually cheated on my theory test at the DMV in los angeles, but the lady monitoring the exam didn't see me checking my book, i couldn't figure out all the different signs in america so i just needed to cheat on that test

so let's get down to u.s. presidential politics............remember in 2000 that picture of bush hitting a home run that his team put out........... that's really where my awareness of george w. bush as an existing entity started right there, with that image............ with fiorino, i'm getting to know her today over the internet just based on various interviews over the years.......... i like her.......... it's going to be interesting to see her debating with jeb bush.......i'll be looking forward to that..... i think she should read up on hilary clinton to make sure she knows as much about her as possible, not necessarily so that she can bash her in a debate, but just to know about her.......... i'm enjoying getting to learn about fiorino as i find her interesting............ i'm not interested to know more about hilary clinton, but if i were running against her in a race for president then i certainly would.........fiorino doesn't seem to have a position on foreign policy, from what i can see on the internet although i could be wrong but certainly it's not a salient enough position to feature prominently on youtube searches where it should be for a matter of public opinion............. it's a tough question......... but she'll have to say something about it eventually.......again, it will be very interesting to see what her and jeb bush have to say about foreign policy when the time comes for their debate.... it would be good to see tom brokaw run the debates, or maybe gwen eiffel or someone from jim lehrer news hour........ i definitely think jeb bush and carly fiorino will be the strongest republican contenders and that fiorino has somewhat of a chance......... i definitely think they'll both be running against hilary however it will also be interesting to see who else the democratic party can cough up as contenders instead of hilary

by the way, fiorino hasn't held any office, she ran against barbara boxer in california for the senate but never won, she works for the republican party --- her position, very valid and reasonably strong, is that the american political system doesn't need a 'professional class' of politicians.... her positions on legalized pot and big government bureaucracy are impeccable, she's even bold enough to refer to the federal government as corrupt..... she'll have to be ready to be very clear what she means by that when/if questioned about it, especially during debate time.........immigration is always a big challenge for america, burocrats, politicians, amish people, etc.....  if i were her i'd watch out for coming across like a know it all when it comes to how everything 'works' (the macro economy and suchlike - although to some extent she seems like she does have a pretty good idea)....... not sure her position yet on education and immigration.... i'd definitely vote for her if i had a fake voter i.d. card though, no question
