Ok I'm at the YHA hotel Newcastle. If I was like a lawyer this would be like my office. There's a replica model of like a Spanish galleon from the 1600s or whatever on the opposite wall and big legal office style couches in the common area tv room.
You wouldn't believe me but an Anglo Saxon sounding guy walks in, asks about the cricket and I was able to give him an extremely accurate and brief response on the test cricket situation vis a vie Australia and India. Mostly because I had just been chatting with a South African about cricket and general bullcrap so I had my cricket hat on. In fact I was once an indoor cricket umpire when I was sixteen or so. My former high school buddy and family friend Winston Churchill (not his real name, just a nickname) trained me up on it. I'm very dispassionate about cricket so I'm able to umpire and reckon fairly well. Not a huge fan actually.
