She's a Congresswoman so sits in Congress which is the Federal American government. There are two kinds of Congresswomen: Senators, in the upper house elected for six years, and Representatives elected for only two years.
Am I interested because the russian government is paying me to be interested? No! I'm an Ossie Spaniard and the russian government ends up costing me money and pain because it makes my parents in law poor and needy because socialism really doesn't work.
As Ms Dingall is currently discussing healthcare with Newsmax and I'm in the process of bringing the entire family to the dentist, let me disabuse anyone interested in Ms Dingall's misconceptions.
1) america's healthcare system is the most expensive for two reasons, I) like the military probably a quarter in every dollar spent by Americans on healthcare, instead of going on the military like their tax dollar do, goes on actual malpractice insurance. This means in country's like australia where the system is public and cheaper you won't be able to sue for malpractice like in america when you're inevitably botched, like that kindergarten teacher Heather, at church, I was telling you about, that was a substitute teacher at my kindergarten in 1980 and now teaches my girls Sunday school occasionally. II) pharmaceutical companies lobby not to have their medications plagiarized and sold cheaply as generic brand drugs at low cost. Without even researching it, the reason would be is that's how they get money to research and develop new drugs like Champix which can be used to suppress nicotine cravings and which actually was developed as an anti depressant. I also mentioned this drug on my blog, I'd imagine in America when they were researching Champix, their guinea pig humans (like Heather at church) actually had better malpractice insurance options set up. If you understood the satisfactions gained from Americans suing for malpractice with all the money they get, a quarter in the dollar, alot of which goes to lawyers, you'd understand why a quarter in the dollar goes on malpractice insurance. It also protects doctors from making mistakes which is inevitable. Nothing is really free and someone always has to pay, like Heather at church with her botched experimental treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome which ended up damaging her liver.
Anyway America tried universal healthcare and it failed. America is too healthy, thank you guns and the Bill of Rights and Constitution, to need a healthcare system for anemic societies like in Europe. Dental care is not covered by public funds in Australia and attempts by leftwing governments to force it have always failed. The public healthcare system in Australia could have you waiting years for surgery and all the rich people have private health insurance.
Even today's Democratic party won't bother trying universal healthcare again with do-gooder Nancy Pelosi being sick of it. Now the idea is spend til the Federal Reserve says, stop, you've reached the debt ceiling. And corrupt the voting system so Democrats can be unfairly re-elected as many times as possible (send them to Africa to reform that place).
One lady at church yesterday was telling me she was a high school teacher and was teaching at a prison but the government funding was cut by a right of centre government. Maybe it was a good scheme that deserved more funding. I'm not against government spending and certain programs that can be pricey but unfortunately, you're not getting the best and brightest in government but many many douchebags. Just sayin' again.
