Did you know homey? No not you, the homey that flies out to Sirius for vacations. OMG! I just found out John Denver died, in a plane crash no less. October 12th 1997. That's Spain's national day coz of Columbus probably.
Wow! I listened to his music as a kid in the 80s and only found out in this very moment he'd died. Wow.
In my last post I mentioned hanging out with Fernando the grandson of Generalissimo Franco's air force chief in 1997 but actually that's when Denver died and Fernando and I mostly kicked it in early 1996 (not 1997 as I mentioned earlier although I think he did rock up to Madrid for a Korn concert in late 96 and that's when I saw what a museum his family's Madrid apartment was). In 1996 I was getting geared up to cram for University entry exam in Spain in Murcia, pre University days. Wow Denver lost two toes in a lawnmower accident. Wild.
Wow when Denver died Lady Di was all the news, you couldn't avoid it in the British Empire where I was, but I'm blown away not to learn about Denver til now.
