So probably mentioned already on this blog the time I met John Densmore in LA... ANOTHER old timer percussionist. It's only one of two times I can remember my knees going all shaky and wobbly. The first time was when a judge started about to say his decision after I was arraigned for assault copper and malicious damage/enter enclosed grounds, prior to that (and hadn't appeared at court for that, instead assaulting a copper), charge of intent withdrawn after scaring the pants off some detective's daughter by causing malicious damage. In short, the good old days. The judge liked my wobbly knees probably as a sign of fear and complimented me specifically on that no doubt saying I was a 'very intelligent young man' (only 23 and just smoked too much weed), go figure
Now Mr Densmore seeing the same odd behaviour (starstruck) looked at his publicist that forced this on him like, 'why?'
Definitely based on my reading of Mr Densmore aura at that time and my memory of it now and also his general demeanor and comparing that to the other old drummer, Joe Hammer. I'd say Joe is happier in life. I'd say Densmore got satisfaction from his fame as made him feel special and Joe may have felt the same in a different way with his percussionist career, but just based on their vibe, I'd say Hammer was happiest. Also he and I have matching pyjama pants, somewhat silly featuring brown bears with fish in their maws. Just sayin'
Happiness is important, it's in the u.s. constitution: the pursuit of it. Other countries don't come close to that, for real.
Maybe I should leave my wife and I'll be happier, she's making me unhappy. Maybe it's time to call it quits, kaput, the end....
