sylvie guillem -- study in straight lines
one of my university professors, in sydney, not in spain, was an american jew.... he boasted of having '5 masters' degrees.... and being an 'expert' on sound ('a sound expert', if you like)........ he taught at a university possibly in arizona and after leaving australia returned himself to california to work at uc davis....... he was also a notable cripple in one leg...... perhaps he pursued '5 master' degrees to overcompensate the gimpiness.......... it comes to mind that he mentioned once the term 'mannered'.... maybe i studied this term, 'manerismo' while studying history of art to get into the university system in spain.......... mannerism i think is the exaggeration of body parts, making limbs more slender, longer.... fingers longer........ the university professor mentioned goya maybe as being reliant on mannerism....... william blake seems to come to mind......... 'teach these souls to fly'
what is clearly wrong with this picture?* this might be termed 'mannerism'

* the angel's torso is facing the wrong way to its feet -- it's completely unnatural
here up in the mountains the weather is cooler and the air dryer........ the fall is a notable reality here with non evergreen trees turning amazing hues of blood red and ochre and golden yellows and orange....... God or the Creation's glory is evident in the rolling clouds..... localized showers, flashes of lightning...etc..... look
