movie review 'gideon' (1999)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0141121/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
the first 2/3rds of this movie seems ok, what they call an 'ensemble' piece amongst the thespians, i'm guessing, set in a retirement village -- unfortunately it decays into ruddy sop by the last 3rd or so............ a retard played by christopher lambertorgini (tarzan) goes to reside in a retirement village full of old people like grumpy old leo (reminds you of leonardo da vinci in his old age except cannot paint or design anything)........ and some old ex philosophy professor played by charlton heston and some other characters like the momma from partridge family maybe and other familiar faces are there..........
just wanted to record a very obscure memory from childhood that this movie conjured up: watching 'the 10 commandments' at the cinema with my parents, heston plays moses in it.... it was so boring.... i must have been maybe 3 years old or maybe a little older....... or younger, it's too difficult to remember....... i had a yellow lamborgini matchbox car......... i played outside the theatre, in the cinema with that....... i guess my parents trusted me not to get into trouble unattended like that......... luckily no-one raped me or tried to abduct me........ i had a good time playing with my lamborghini, can't remember any of my siblings being around but that memory is bona-fide real -- but seems like from a different 'dimension' as murphy says.... what's on the tv looks realer than that
a year after this movie was made, in 2000, i was living in madrid spain and somehow, in some very unusually warped and abstract way, i think i must have recalled this yellow lamborgini from childhood
recently i told a shut-in loser buddy of mine, horvat, that stays around at home all day on meds with his cockroaches that if i were him i'd get a $1000 piece of crap car and ram it into a lamborghini or sthmg like that and incur some damage (the guy has no assets or income so it's not like he'd owe money on it), maybe that'd make that guy feel better about himself, that's called homeopathic solution
