I'm going to chime in here what Bill is saying about tik tok. I think it's a morality issue. I think Americans stateside that never leave America, some of them will do absolutely crazy shit like take illegal drugs all day long. Because it's 'cool'. On my radar, I don't think tik tok and China building a huge supercomputer to analyse stolen tik tok data is an issue. I think the issue has always been the same, desire and weakness. To put it in Buddhist terms, something the Chinese can appreciate, even after Mao times. Even the leadership in China can be appealed to through Buddhist overtures. Asians love Buddha. Jesus is more for Europeans into sick violence. Asians are super mellow. In fact, there's no point talking about China on some level it's just about Asia. I mean there are big numbers in China, a lot of slaves working hard for meagre wages, making you $8 flipflops. I mean Buddha was very clear: desire is the cause of suffering.
People that use tiktok tend to do so because they're lost on a kind of astral plane of desire, just kind of wasting their time. Studies show internet access translates to happiness. Perhaps internet can stifle frustrated desires. Even porn. I tend to think continually scapegoating China's government is like scapegoating Jews. Scapegoating is a way for white people to just blame black people or black people just to blame white people, it's a cop out. The pursuit of happiness is written into the American constitution. Miserable people such as might be found in lowly positions in China (hundreds of millions) can be upset with a taste of American styled freedom. American freedom isn't for everyone. Freedom isn't for everyone. You can even say in Christian terms, truth equates to freedom and truth isn't for everyone. I mean I don't know, the truth is the sun shines on everyone and provides life to everyone but in China it's blacked out by smog. China is messed up. On some level they're accelerating human consumption beyond anything we can understand. I still think the fundamental problems are religious to do with morality and stuff like that. I do not see war with China as a problem. Japan is getting a big army. I do not see a highly militarized China as a problem, or tik tok. I see Fentanyl and moral decay as problems.
