Like Idiocracy, this is a really cool movie from the past twenty years or so with a black american leading character. It's all about policing (not a comedy though). Denzel Washington plays a dodgy cop. Unfortunately or not, I cannot remember any actual details from this movie apart from it was pretty cool. Same as that Samuel L Jackson movie where he's a school teacher in south central LA or somewhere. Movies that leave a good impression long term, over decades, of actually being good movies. I'll buy a day's viewing from YouTube of this Training Day and watch it and write a review (can't remember a thing).....
The other aforementioned movie is called 187 or something like that, Samuel L Jackson plays schoolteacher Mr Garfield in the ghetto. I probably won't watch it again as I don't like watching movies a lot of movies much anymore but I'll definitely watch Training Day tonight as I recall it was a pretty good movie and it's been an extremely long time.... If I ever end up making feature movies when I'm 70 or something I wouldn't want to pollut e my style with the low cultural level generally subpar intellectual level of movies generally out there (intellectual snob). Even if a backward society demonstrates its inability to be worthy of any movies I could make, I still wouldn't want to pollute my formula one like intellect and education with inferiority quality engine oils (cheap Hollywood trash), hence the few movies I watch anymore, if any at all (intellectual snob).

Standby....
They're pretty good performances by Washington and Hawke. Even president Camacho is in this movie believe it or not but it's before he gets into politics. The plotline about the Russians is extremely implausible however but everything else was very plausible in certain circumstances. Certainly things have been that corrupt here in Australia and often still are!
