Did they only bring three days food?
According to Belorussian president attack map, Moldova is also supposed to be annexed:

Judging by the current Russian tactics, either occupy peacefully telling everybody to stay inside, or heavy bombardment, terrify locals into submission, it seems the Russians are looking to occupy long term and also occupy Moldova which means basically extending Russia's border all the way to NATO and turning Ukraine into a Belorussia.
Here's an interesting DW German documentary on three Ukrainian female soldiers in the war in Donbas prior to the Russian 24/2/22 invasion. (Post Russian annexation of Crimea).

I don't believe the Russian government or intelligentsia when they talk about wanting to liberate Russians in Kharkiv or Donbas or Transnistiya. In fact they're probably killing a ton of them and there will be plenty of ethnic Russians moving against them. The Russians under Putin are a gullible, ignorant people. If their leadership bombs Russian people in 1999 or 2000 and says it was the Chechens and use it as a pretext to bomb Chechnya, then the people believe it. The Russian population are a population of suckers that believe everything their dopey government tells them. This problem has no solution without regime change in Russia. It's going to be years of sanctions against the Russians unless they want to drop a nuke. The Russian population is all going to switch over to cryptocurrency by the looks of it. If the Russians drop a nuke on NATO it's going to be a war that ends their government with a treaty.
Few in the Russian intelligentsia could believe that their government could run a false flag operation and bomb their own people, because they're suckers. The government in Russia are a bunch of dopey self serving cleptocrats under the clepto-tyrant Putin. What do we have democracy for if not to push back against these dopey 20th century relics?
