To the left shluts.... shed a tier

Was watching some dopey show called Scorpion for like 5 minutes yesterday. It's set in LA and includes some scenes from the LA Subway. I'd say it's dopey because the premise is some non existent nebulous government agency, actually a bunch of actors from LA who run around performing jobs of police and fire brigade wearing plainclothes and using maths and stuff, it's just silly. One of the actors looks retirement age and like he acted with Ray Liotta or something in 90s mafia movies. In this episode there's a runaway subway train in LA and a comedy club scene where the Asian looking lady in their team jokes about zero gravity.

I thought it'd be interesting to blog all the subways I've used and some notes about them but first have to fix some antibiotic free chicken and prawns and sundry vittles for supper. You know how it is.

I'll include outer suburban trains above ground also but not long distance.

Madrid. Has inner city metro, mostly underground. And Cercanias which is mostly above ground for outside city suburbs. My former college roomie heard the boom from the 3/11/04 terrorist attack nearby Atocha station. Atocha station is a major hub combining metro and Cercanias. He said he was super scared when he heard the boom. There's also footage of this explosion from the train platform. I was in Manchuria at the time, near North Korea, studying what would later become the iron lotus (ie the space a foot away from my face).

Paris. Many carriages have truck tires on them. Why? Mostly I caught train from Porte Maillot to la Defense to get from 1 Boulevard Pershing (aka my crib) to go to from work. Listened to the marriage of Figaro alot. Walkmans that played cassettes were still in as well as cd playing walkmans. MP3s still not so big. Cell phones were primitive.

Shenzhen. Mostly just to catch subway an hour to Hong Kong. Different country in those days. One country two systems.

Guangzhou, probably had a metro and would have caught it maybe although mostly never needed it. Can't remember. Mostly just caught a minibus to Starbucks if leaving yihe hotel complex. www.yihehotel.cn

Seoul. Entire city is ridiculously lacking in plants and grass. Ludicrous. Only saw greenery at the college campus hanging out with my girlfriend Selki. Very sweet girl, wouldn't let me get to first base, strictly a hand holder.

Los Angeles. Great way to get from downtown to Hollywood when sleeping in a homeless shelter with 100 self described niggers got too skanky and wanted to kick it with the crackers in Hollywood.

NYC great subway you can get to the beach at Coney island, go to Greenwich village, knock yourself out. Buses also an option with MTA or whatever it's called. You can train to Canada if you want. Ask President Joe, he used to run Amtrak.

Sofia, Bulgaria. Probably caught it once or twice, can't remember, never used it much.

Sydney. They just added a driverless line with typical face to face metro carts like in LA.

London. The tube. London is too big, not the place to enjoy English people. British museum has a great Egyptian collection.

Melbourne Australia. Can't remember, mostly got above ground trams. Maybe never rode it.

Barcelona. It's there if you need it.

Atlanta Georgia. The Marta features two lines. At the end of one, a short walk away, there's unlimited work available to Hispanics at Chinese run employment agencies. Great opportunities for undercover narcotics police to gain intelligence maybe.

High speed trains are now a thing in China apparently. Weren't there fifteen years ago in my day. Very popular in Spain where it's very feasible. Joe Biden talking about high speed trains from sea to sea in America must be smoking crack. How badly can he ruin America's economy in four years before he gets voted out?
