Finally, a little religion talk. Not something we discuss on the blog much. So in the Koran there are some interesting and challenging passages about following the messengers (of God). It names Moses and Jesus as messengers in this vein, it's probably fair to say. And says there are some messengers you don't know about without mentioning any but we can assume Lao Tzu, Guatama Buddha and Zoroaster are amongst them. Then it says something I find challenging, paraphrasing... To follow all of the messengers in what they say (including Mohammed of course) is close to belief or true faith (in God). But kind of mix and match and take a little from here and there is disbelief and bad. This is my understanding of what it says and of course many bigoted Muslims and Jews and Christians would not accept seriously that Lao tzu and Buddha and Zoroaster were really messengers, and the latter two reject the Koran and many Muslims are ignorant of lao tzu for sure. Also not clear what kind of Buddhists the Buddhists of the world in Thailand Sri Lanka India Japan etc really are. That seems important to me though.
