hollywood watchout with Benji

hello frayns, let's quickly gloss over sandler's 2012, ahem, er, comedy, with the son and the buck's night and what not, we caught a bit of it.... my father often said to me at some point in my life: you are going backwards..... somehow, this advice seems relevant for sandler, so we're happy to pass it on to him........... the lovely witherspoon was in some vince vaughn movie from 2008 but we only caught a minute of it that looked like a remake of the police academy scene where tackleberry or whatever his name is is beaten up by the blonde cop's family member at her family's house.........whatever who cares

also not worth mentioning was a dvd that cost $3.50 and was total waste of time, trash........ 'alien abduction' - do not waste your time with it.......what trash........ really

anyway, moving on, there was a promising looking documentary with harrison ford, don cheadle and the ny times guy friedman......... now we seem to have done a bit of dumping on friedman in the past on this blog, however we are proud to say friedman does not at all come across as a douche in this documentary and benji is pleased when the 'lefty guys' for want of a better term, can cobble together things that o'riley cannot come along and be justified in dismissing it as 'far left loony' and 'moon-calf-ism'........ so in that respect, we can even say we are proud of the ford/cheadle/friedman effort.......

let's discuss the topic a little: first of all, i would recommend to all climate scientists kurt stager's 'the next one million years' - think that's what it's called, he's a paleontologist........ interestingly, stager mentions that in a previous cycle, not sure when, maybe a million years ago, there was much more co2 in the air than now, and the equivalent amount as worst case scenarios for the future read: about 500 parts per million, i suppose........ now stager and other paleontologists do not deny this reality as they hold it as a scientific fact based on ice core samples they have dug and the frozen ice trapped therein........ they do not, however, have answers for this as to the why...........certainly it was not from oil being all burnt up

still, the fact that life went on from this long past and unexplained 500+ ppm co2 event that is held as a paleontological fact (and not mentioned in the harrison documentary we mentioned), does not necessarily mean that our science of today is not accursed and will not lead to disaster, in fact, we personally believe the contrary.......... in this regard, despite poo-pooing the 'eurotrash' and their stance on climate change...... in fact, we cannot deny that of all the industrialized blocks, they will be the best off when petrol becomes scarce, due to their already strong commitment to renewable energies, which, you would be quite surprised to find how well developed they already are in germany and england in this wise

in america, there is not the will, like there is in the EU to switch to renewables.......it's not enough to have an intellectual/bookish type left wing elitist like obama in office to convert to renewables the way the EU has been and is continuing to do so, this drive must come from the masses........you'll see now in obama's last two years he'll get nothing that he wants and i can't imagine what they were saying at fox news about his agreement with china to reduce pollution but of course the congress wouldn't ratify that for a moment with all the republicans there and why should the republicans just stop coal production all of a sudden? that's no way to go forward, it's like prohibition in the 1930s, it just won't work........ there isn't much will in america to save energy but there's plenty of will in Europe for that and don't worry, Europe will be leading the way in that in a couple of hundred years or so, we imagine

anyway, that ford/friedman/cheadle documentary did look quite interesting so we'll certainly try to watch more of them in future if possible!
