Did you know there was a Colorado Avalanche ice hockey team and they won the Stanley cup in 2022?
I had no idea, lo ignoraba. In fact, I was so ignorant about it,

might as well go on a quick tangent about Spanish past tense verbs.
We have the simple past tense and the continuous past tense. Say for Biden's four years as President you could refer to specific days with the past simple. But ongoing situations with the kind of past continuous (not to be confused with the 'gerund' or 'present participle', such as words ending in -ing in English.
Say for example I was unaware my entire life about the existence of the Colorado Avalanche hockey team, with their non candy cane shaped hockey sticks (think grass hockey). Lo (it) ignoraba (I was unaware [of]).
All past ongoing tenses in spanish will be with the suffix -aba if its an -ar verb or -ía if it's an er or ir ending verb.
La princesa sufría de cancer (suffered - ongoing situation).
Andaba a la escuela en españa por aquella epoca.
I'd walk to school during that period of my life. Eg junior year, 1992/1993.
Oh wow look the Denver Nuggets won the 2023 NBA basketball title, who knew? Lo ignoraba....

Ok we're going to get even nerdier now with the Spanish because this verb 'saber' to know, also means to taste like. And it's different from knowing people and places (conocer).
Ready to get nerdy?

Conocía a Madrid en junior high school. No conocía a Britney hasta bastante más tarde.
Ok so saber, to know is also to taste like:
No sabía (ignoraba) que Colorado tenía (had/there's that tense again) un equipo llamado el Avalanche. La pared no sabía a café - the wall didn't taste like coffee - no sabía.
Check the Avalanche hit the wall now. Thanks no further questions your honor.

Ok for homework, complete the sentence:
"It was at this moment, he knew, he fucked up..."
Just write out whatever works for you, my favorite is: when he emailed MTV his ideas about choreography and married a Russian communist.
This CNN guy interviews a cannibal, realising he fucked up. You figure out your own paragraphs, eg if you're Trump: hanging out with Stormy Daniels too much, whatever.
It was at this moment, the CNN guy, he knew he fucked up ....

It was at the moment he bet everything against the Denver Nuggets mascot making that freak basket, that the nighttime performance artist with the broken piggy bank knew he fucked up...
