long weekend - woohoo

queens birthday public holiday on Monday so that's three days off -- happy birthday buddy, for last april!

riding home with the music on loud on the radio tonight, I was reminded of a dutch fellow I saw do the same thing some 20 years ago now, we were outside a cold storage factory in northern Holland somewhere, I didn't know this guy, he was just a worker at the factory and had finished his shift and was straight into his smart new small car and off like an arrow as the Spaniards say, como una flecha........ I felt like that guy tonight starting off In my car...........maybe coz i'm thinking about buying a new car..... not sure.......... the Honda jazz looks nice, Hondas seem like the best Japanese cars there are.......... not totally sure --- there's a Nissan leaf that doesn't require any fuel - it's all battery powered.......... will probably stick with my car for as long as I can --- it has such a strong engine anyway -- six cylinders..........

so triple m, the radio station was playing this song;

on the drive home..... caught another American dad, that's the 3rd for this season of life we're in now...... this was the one with the gay republican party faction, the log cabin guys....... they watch that stuff in Bulgaria too! I remember going to one of my student's homes there, a dad with grown up kids in their late teens -- he was about to migrate to Canada and wanted to sharpen his English language skills -- he was an IT guy and could make all kinds of money --- another guy I forgot to get his details to stay in touch with --- one of his sons didn't want to leave Bulgaria coz he had his friends there -- maybe that was the one watching American dad on the tv that night -- can't remember -- but that was a whole different season in life

so at the aforementioned cold storage factory in Holland -- when we were inside it, I remember being impressed with the industrial thermometers they use to check the temperature of frozen goods on pallets....... say you have a pallet full of boxes of ice cream and you want to check the temperature, you just stick a long needle into it --- a little too wide for my liking, and get your reading -- so if you ever buy a frozen ice cream from the supermarket and there's a big hole in your popsicle, maybe that's why! although maybe they throw them out when it's time to stack them on the shelf -- who knows?

okay let's talk Brexit...... they were showing some clip of a brexit debate on CNN or maybe it was SBS world news from Australia here, can't recall -- but boris Johnson was there and some politician in England amber someone (not johnny depp's pal).......... someone was trying to refute Johnson and was talking about Australia's immigration system and the fact that Australia has a greater proportion of migrants to the overall population than England has (or Britain) -- that's correct, around 1 in 4 Australians weren't born here and the population has grown about 32% since I was born here around 40 years ago (the queen rolled by our house on luxford road bidwill when I was a baby, I was told).....

I don't think you could get a full blown population explosion like they had in America in the 19th century and early 20th century unless you had a republic and a proper constitution.... otherwise you'll just keep having a kind of English ruling caste as exists now......

anyway, with regard to England specifically, not Scotland or wales, I think it's in their best interest to leave the Eurozone although that's mostly my gut talking, as i'm unaware of the actual laws there....... I know that in Ireland, you cannot get unemployment benefits or any kind of money from the govt. unless you've been residing there at least six months...... however the Blair govt. made free cash handouts the law there so I don't think that's an EU issue...........furthermore I was watching a documentary on Thatcher recently from England's channel 4 and I didn't realize how much of England was state owned and state operated when she commenced the prime ministership there -- so that it was virtually a communist state almost.......... they really changed that over the course of a decade or so --- so that's a very interesting aspect of English societal life

now with regard to immigration, I can't understand that the English are forced to accept quotas from the EU --- in this instance, I can only think about what I understand: Spain.......... in Spain, immigrants are wasting their time because there are no jobs, apartments, hardly anything for them --- unless they are bringing all kinds of cash, then they can go ahead and buy all the businesses they want --- witness the Pakistanis in Barcelona, absolute nasty bastards you've never seen anywhere else........ but they have money and no one in spain has access to loans of any kind unless it's for a mortgage and they have a govt. job, because of the EU........... it seems the EU takes on different hues and shapes depending on the nation and the English find themselves so 'apurados' --- stressed/challenged, because of high migration --- spain doesn't worry about high migration because there's nothing to attract the migrants in general.......... apparently in England, this is such a big deal that they are going to change the law, have already changed it, in fact, so that non EU citizens residing in England earning less than 35,000 pounds a year can no longer stay ---- e.g., americans and Australians............seems like a big mistake....... I would say, if immigration is out of control and you can't control it by staying in the EU then leave........ for sure if England left the EU Scotland and northern Ireland might end up separating from England but I wouldn't worry about that ---- the Scottish/English connection is not written in stone --- it's only been about 500 years or so or whatever it has been --- it's no big deal scrapping the whole notion of 'british' -- I never bought it myself really............. i'd say vote to get out! isn't Norway like not in the EU? and the swiss aren't either ----

oh yeah, how could I forget! for some reason it seemed important to mention the (one and only) time when I was around 17 years old, I decided not to change my underwear for the entire duration of a summer holiday (around six weeks 1993/94) .... I did swim in those duds most every day but I never used soap and never changed them that I can recall -- at the end of the six weeks there was so much urine and poop stainage that they were starting to just disintegrate --- then I started boasted to couple of my female buddies about them --- another buddy tried to remove them from me with force to show the aforementioned two buddies but I surprised him with my physical strength and thwarted his attempt to arrest me -- he was bigger and more muscular than me too -- although I was boasting about my duds, I didn't want anyone seeing them, maybe it was embarrassing after all??? confusing.............they were already removed and in my bag when that buddy from wayback tried taking them off me with force -- just sayin' -- don't get any funny ideas.... it's funny because in those days often i'd wake up in the morning and feel incredibly weak physically, not sick but like unable to wrestle, have any muscular strength apart from for walking.... but when this guy tried ripping my duds from my bag it was in the evening and I was at peak strength

shout out to bounty hunter and we almost out

actually, with this battle for Fallujah going on at the moment -- you see the tactics: you prick me - ISIS, in Fallujah, i'll prick you in bagdad --- suicide bombers blow up scores in Baghdad.......... DARPA this DARPA that --- DARPA shmarpa I say ---- what the wars in Iraq/Afghanistan showed us was that the IED was a huge Achilles heel for the u.s. military ..... another thing we're seeing is that there's a lot of tunnelling going on in Fallujah by ISIS and we saw that in Vietnam too -- all kinds of tunnels -- and on the Mexican / American border -- drug tunnels............. that's why i'm so passionate about seeing the development of kind of mini cluster drilling bombs that can just release an ordinance of hundreds of bomblets, like a cluster bomb, but then instead of exploding the bomblets start drilling into the ground before exploding --- it's so easy to develop that if you put the money and attention there and such a worthwhile thing to do, just can't believe we aren't seeing that already! that's so basic, you could even put a sensor on the bomblets so that when the sensor senses a hollow space, like it's not drilling through dirt anymore, it triggers the explosion -- boom, tunnel gone
