so tonight, bought my first bike, $800 and rode it home 24km....... my first ride in traffic, as bike school was just in a car park basically......... 24km is about 16 miles if you're reading this in america and don't know what kilometres are.........that's a good long ride but this motorbike (scooter/automatic) only has a 50cc engine, that's as small as they can be, so it can't even do more than 62 km p/h, that's about 38.5 mph.....down a hill, which sydney has considerable of, you could probably do 70 kph, 43.5 mph..... while it may not seem real exciting to you, 62 kph is plenty fast enough to die or be seriously crippled/maimed for life, should you come off your bike hitting a bad pothole or being hit by a car or truck/bus, etc......... there is plenty of danger out there and the mathematical statistics speak to the danger of riding motorbikes, which is why they are so exhilarating and thrilling......... i have decided to name my bike colleen and i shan't cast it into the ring of doom in mordor, but will keep it for myself............precious...........
