If my facts are correct, I gave a ride to the former mother in law and grandmother of this woman's daughter. The article doesn't mention a daughter, only two adult sons, one of whom slayed her. Other articles you can find online give no hint at all, according to the version presented by the presiding NSW Court Judge about the reality as I heard it from aforementioned former mother in law of this victim. Whom I gave a ride to in Avalon one fine day and spent ten or fifteen minutes or so listening to her story.
The mother in law I met presented as a very likeable British woman of English ethnicity, mostly living in England barely visiting her son in Australia. I understood her son had a daughter who was the daughter of said victim. Possibly the first child and eldest. I further understood that this kind of woman, the victim, was one of these 'woman by the well' as per Jesus in the New Testament gospels, ie., prone to having different boyfriends all the time or frequently, unlikely to stay put in one marriage. The British grandmother didn't like her probably from the start but was not spiteful or bitter. She seemed exceedingly proud of her father who bravely worked on a Spitfire fighter plane factory in England during works war 2. This seemed likeable about her. I acknowledge the difference in our respective cultures as Spain had a civil war shortly before that and nobody speaks about it much. The English certainly do seem to have a positive attitude towards warring and their war dead.
Anyway the issue according to the grandmother was that her former daughter in law's son, ie, from a different relationship, not her son's union with this troubled woman, was that the mother had a major drug addiction problem while living in Byron bay and was in a deeply unhealthy and criminal relationship with the son that ended up killing her, getting hik addicted to heavy drugs like heroin or crystal meth, I wasn't sure which, from around age ten or twelve. Unfortunately the system failed this poor boy and the lesbian do-gooders, to use my father's favorite expression, were not able to save this boy from such a pitiful and criminal mother. So despite journalists using pithy and ultimately meaningless pseudo descriptive language like, known to police and close knit, in fact it's just all bullshit. The mother was a devil not an angel.

11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”

16 He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.”
17 “I have no husband,” she replied.
Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.
Justice Helen Wilson on Thursday accepted the defence, saying Woszatka "cannot be held criminally responsible" for her death.
It was clear he had been severely ill since at least 2015, including harbouring homicidal thoughts, she said.
