What's up, seems like only yesterday we were looking at the Blues Brothers jumping the opening water bridge and Vlad was upping the soldier input recruitment back in mother Russia and the relics of the CCCP and the Russian Federation's friends and allies.
Putin's generals used and discarded that fat bald guy what's his face, the head of Wagner and have figured out how to minimise losses from their main professional army. While the statistics are hard to have. While the Russians may have lost 300,000 soldiers, nowadays, at the dug in situation now occurring, it seems the Russians lose few professional soldiers a month, perhaps less than 10,000 a year. There's still room for the Russians to lose fifty thousand soldiers in a year at this rate but these guys are new recruits from other races outside of Russia, like Kazaks, etc.
Russia is still reliant on dropping mortar shells and has been doing so at a staggering rate since the war began, levelling many Ukrainian towns. Still with the precision weapons the Ukrainians are using, they're dropping a lot of expensive Russian weapons, helicopters, warships, one submarine , etc. Truly Russia is a large nation with many relics from the past, not least in its military. America is the same way, I recall riding in an old yellow truck in Arizona*, must have been from the 1950s. I would think with Russia's new posture, while exclusion from many global markets can hurt, it would mostly hurt their airline industry and ability to maintain jumbo jets, parts and servicing. Maybe the Chinese can help them with that since China runs all modern services effectively well. I think Russia's economy is humming along nicely and Germany is really losing, and the European union, regarding petrol prices.
However I would never underestimate the European union's ability to be socialist and paying ridiculous prices for fuel.
Militarily, it seems while Ukraine is offered sophisticated training and weaponry, they will continue to eradicate Russian tanks, fighter jets, helicopters, warships, etc. Happy to. And kill Kazaks or whoever. Plenty of fight left in them it seems.

Choke point to watch: Danish crackdown on oil shipped out of Russia through Danish straits, uninsured and against EU policy. One for Biden to pick up the phone and call the EU.
Russian patriotism versus denial/corruption. We've all seen denial up close. Many westerners are in denial about the Clintons. I don't mean climate change as it's a too imprecise expression. The equivalent western denial about the Clintons and general pompous virtue signalling, to be very broad and generalised. We see this in Russia with corruption and Putin's patriotism. While Putin has his big palaces and mega mansions, he has the luxury to wax poetic about Russian patriotism. But Russian patriotism never stopped desperately poor or greedy Russians from plundering their military allotments. Putin might believe whatever statistics some people pleasers place under his nose but let's see these Russians get organised. We're still not really seeing it in my opinion.
