Took the ferry from Ettalong to Palm beach recently, about two weeks after the sailing trip on the Red Herring also by lion island and the Hawkesbury and Pacific Ocean junction. Basically a visible harbour from Ettalong directly South (Pittwater harbour)... There is a very distinct and narrow channel the boats must stay between delineated by green and red buoys, of course (international colors for that kind of thing). In order to go from open sea around lion island into what I suppose is Gosford harbour. I'll probably do that trip too! In Red Herring....
