Turning 50, wrapping up two weeks off work, business is good

What's up? It's back to work Monday. Just taking a two week break from work. I never mentioned unavailability to most of my customers as most of them are low to middle rotation. Some ongoing mid to high rotation (gardening) customers I mentioned being unavailable or taking a holiday but for the most part I never needed to mention it.

It would be good to find a casual worker or two that could cover for me occasionally. I'll see how business pans out.

My son, pictured above, currently touring around Paris, has helped me out a few times with the gardening business, also a couple of other buddies however it's not really reliable/ available help although my son would be better when he's a little older and stronger, he's still only thirteen.

I have to say, it's my first break, this long, from gardening in a lot of months. I did a few 1km runs on the treadmill. Generally between soccer and that treadmill and whatever I've noticed some stress in the achilles tendon on the right side. Sore knees from gardening that disappeared around four days into my break. With gardening it's good to be able to squat easily however it seems I'm loosing that ability due to cartilage issues. So I'm looking at a dietary solution like eating cherries or something like that (cherries have chemical components good for that).

Anyway Monday 18th is the first day back since Friday 1st May so it's a 17 day break in total which is what the doctor (me) ordered. It sure has been a long time without breaks prior to this.
