From the bus depot years ago. He's living in Indonesia with his new wife who's from there and their new baby. What was really cool was he had an app on his phone live streaming his little convenience store and his employee there. He says he made a small fortune just on the actual real estate investment for that shop. Seems like a great place to do business. I know Nike has been taking advantage of the cheap labor in Indonesia for years. Was I over the legal driving limit? Unlike America the limit is not 0.08 but 0.05. supposedly a big guy like me could have three little bottles of Budweiser in three hours and be ok. But I was drinking non full strength but still 3.5% alcohol volume. I had four of those and like 200ml of Corona just over an hour before I met Alex as my wife left her beer on the table and it was hot and sweaty. I doubt I would ever have been over 0.05 but at one point was feeling slightly buzzed. I rolled by a breathtesting site on the way home confident of being under 0.05 but anyway never got called in.
Alex is as talkative as ever and you can't get a word in and as we were talking about religion he sounds like a Catholic zealot.
So can I drink a few low strength beers as a Muslim once in a blue moon? Yes but we're not supposed to pray after that. Just skip praying and wait til you sleep it off. Then pray. Can I hang out with someone that consistently bashes the Koran to my face non stop? I wouldn't want to spend too much time with Alex, even when I knew him from the bus depot before I became a practicing Muslim because he's way too vociferous and doesn't let you get a word in, so you wouldn't be able to discuss much anyway.
I'm happy to host him and his wife and child for a BBQ in the name of family values but yeah, he's too talkative and like a Catholic mouthpiece.
One argument he picked, I said in the Koran, in war, it's the only time adultery is permissible, you're allowed to rape your enemy's wife when you're at war. Obviously this seems uncivilized but I was arguing humans are hard wired genetically to war and screw and the Koran doesn't shy around this obvious fact. Also I mentioned instances in the old testament where God is basically demanding some Jews go and slay their enemies not withstanding the ten commandments is proof of that. Then I raised what seemed like an obvious example to me of wartime rape: Russia during world war two fighting the nazis. Anything with a vagina got raped by the red army as they proceeded towards Berlin through Poland. They never got in any trouble for that, only for bitching about Stalin in letters home. Did you ever hear FDR complaining about Russian wartime atrocities? Or anyone else? No, it's always, the Russians defeated the Nazis and approached Berlin from the East. That's totally normal human behavior if you're in a war. While American military isn't famous for raping French women in world war two, how many German women did they rape. I can post a video of American military women complaining about being raped while on duty by American military men and probably none of them were censured. Rape in the military is considered common.
Inheriting women for marriage against their will. The Koran prohibits it, so the fact that all these so called Muslim countries are marrying their young daughters off to family buddies against their will, that's unislamic completely and something the Koran refers to as imitating the practice of your fathers even though it's wrong.
But Alex wasn't interested. Just banging on what a super hero Loyola was. And saint Francis. Very sceptical of these Catholics I am.
