On Sept. 29, I performed at the Riyadh Comedy Festival. This decision has weighed heavily on my heart ever since. I like to express my sincere regret for having performed under a government that continues to violate fundamental human rights.

I want to share the context for my decision — not as an excuse, but because the people who have trusted me deserve to hear from me. As an artist, my mission has always been to help people feel less alone. As an openly gay person, when I was asked to perform in Riyadh, I was surprised. I requested a guarantee that I could be openly out as a lesbian on stage and perform gay material. I hoped that this could help LGBTQ+ people in Saudi Arabia feel seen and valued. I am grateful that I was able to do precisely that — to my knowledge, I am the first openly gay comic to talk about it on stage in Saudi Arabia. I received messages from attendees sharing how much it meant to them to participate in a gay-affirming event. At the same time, I deeply regret participating under the auspices of the Saudi government.

I think last time I went to the comedy club a newbie comic was there rapping how he was gay and making gay jokes. I proceeded to get on stage and ask him if he'd ever have five guys jerk off on him. He indicated no. My point is, who cares if you're gay? Why is that so important? If the case is you have a fragile ego and want to be liked, why not make jokes about that instead of expecting us to feel morbidly obsessed with boring details about your dopey sex life? See if the gay guy had said yeah I had five guys jerk off on me then I could follow up from on stage: simultaneously? were they African? That's the chutzpah spirit I'm looking for when awarding the coveted Benji award. Maybe Kirson is a closet heterosexual and a heterophobe because the guy changing her nappy as a baby stuck his finger in her, we don't really know. Why some women think everyone should care about their sexuality if they're not actively stripping or talking about their Only Fans job is weird.

Ok here's Bill Burr, he just made well over a million dollars performing in Saudi Arabia, nothing that involves getting stoned or beheaded. And he still makes time for his Monday morning podcast. He takes a letter from mid life crisis guys and uses terms like "growing" and "taking time to grow". My issue is Bill and everyone just tossing the term "psycho" around. What's wrong with "empathy challenged"? Or "unpredictable and simultaneously empathy challenged," or even, "culturally rich as pertaining to law enforcement"? Just saying "psycho" a lot can just sound derogatory. It's 2025. Come on Bill and come on Riyadh.

In the church accepted gospel accounts of Jesus and the Pharisees and Sadducees, we have Jesus describing the inner selves and the outer selves of aforementioned Jewish sects as nasty like the interior of a grave, and nice looking like the outside of a tomb, well painted and swept.

Right there we have two selves clearly defined: the inner self and the outer self.

With the atheist in China America, Europe and elsewhere, it's not commonly understood the inner self survives death of the body and reincarnates and the outer self goes through disintegration with the body at death. These are concepts that people can understand in their own way but not something they might feel comfortable talking about.

Most modern psychology deals with observations of the outer self. Interestingly the legal system is most likely to search for inner evil, inner deceipt, and etc. But people in marketing and espionage may be interested in these topics. 

The story of Job in the Bible shows us a case of a person's outer experience being dramatically shifted and you can listen to a reproduction of Bustamente talking about people's baseline personalities when they're up against the wall.

Still, there's a total lack of understanding about the rhythmic cycles of the inner self. The best descriptions of the seven different types of inner selves comes from Spencer Lewis' Self Mastery and Fate with the Cycles of Life.

Ok wow, remember I just mentioned on this blog I have a fancy leather briefcase? I mean I normally would never have a briefcase. Pivoting back away from communist China back to the Judaic Christian mindset, have you ever heard of the Gospel of Thomas? Not sure if it's real? Moi aussi. I'll have to pay it closer attention. Unlike most self professed Christians, I value other world philosophical leaders like Buddha and Lao Tzu, less fond of the Greco Romans in general who are highly regarded in Europe. Still much of what we see in the gospels makes perfect sense. Jesus makes sense. But what is this gospel of Thomas really all about? Let's take a deeper dive:

In a law enforcement context I suppose this would explain why criminals sleep well in prison after being arrested and the innocent toss and turn and are mightily perturbed? I mean I don't know that's what they say about criminals that confess I suppose. I mean I've seen a lot of my family members kind of destroying themselves. Were they kind of repressing something?
