That's probably been covered already on this blog but let's revisit this classic Spanish card game... First of all, the eights nine and tens are removed. The Jacks (sotas), queens (caballos) and Kings (Reyes) stay in the deck but the twos are classed as aces and the threes are classed as Kings, making eight Kings, eight aces, then four fours, 5s, 6s, 7s, sotas and caballos.

Then there's only two teams with two players acting as one team, betting and sending facial signals that are standardized. For arguments sake we'll pretend we're playing against Joseph Stalin and FDR who are one team, with Winston Churchill as our partner. Let's say FDR is the dealer and we're first after him clockwise, making us 'mano' (hand) and WC 'postre' (dessert). JS  is mano for FDR and FDR postre. We'll use standardized facial signals to WC when neither JS or FDR are looking so WC can bet for both of us. And keep an eye out for any signals JS and FDR might be passing.

Everyone can discard cards (4 max as everyone always has four cards) during the mus phase until someone cuts the mus. Normally postre cuts mus and speaks/bets for the team. Typically everyone will say mus so as discard useless cards until someone finally stops that, cutting the mus, then the game's four stages proceed: grande, chica, pares, juego (or punto if noone has 31 or higher, keeping in mind face cards like sotas and Kings (including threes) value ten points.

For example, we've been dealt pelote which means crap, discarded twice and after first discard bitten our bottom lip when noone but WC was watching indicating two Kings, then on the second discard biting the bottom lip indicating two Kings and winked with the left eye indicating 31 for the last round 'juego'. WC wants to cut the mus, having intercepted our signs and having good grande, pares and juego but seeing JS sign to FDR realizes FDR will cut the mus anyway and doesn't want to reveal too much so WC says mus and sure enough FDR cuts the mus and betting proceeds at the grande. The manos typically pass and leave betting for the postres. WC knows we have two Kings for grande and some other two cards totalling 11 so a seven and four or sota and Ace or the like. The strongest hand at grande is four Kings then three kings horse then three kings jack three kings seven all the way down to four aces. The chica round is the opposite to grande with four aces being strongest and four Kings worst . Generally all mus players repeat the mantra, jugador de chica, perdedor de mus ...

FDR says invido tres which is next to impossible to actually imagine FDR ever playing mus at all, but anyway, for the sake of argument he's bet a modest three points and WC ups that five to eight points (of total 40) bet. If FDR reneges then WC takes three points porque no. If FDR wants to see the eight it will be settled end of game and chica will ensue. FDR can also raise WCs 8 point bet.

Chica round proceeds in the same way but pares and juego require players actually have pairs or over 30 (for juego) to actually bet at those rounds. If only one player has pares and only one player has juego only that player will claim the bonus points applicable to those rounds. It may be three players have pares and juego and the biggest bluffer with a lousy hand wins those two rounds despite horrible cards. Therefore only that one player that won those rounds can claim the applicable bonus points, eg 1 point for one pair, two points for three of a kind and three points for duples (two pairs). The facial sign for duples Altos is eyebrows up and duples bajos is blinking both eyes simultaneously. Three of a kind is effected by jerking the jaw swiftly to the left. If Kings then bight the bottom lip indicating two Kings. If three aces jerk jaw left quickly and stick tongue slightly out while pursing lips. Pursing lips alone with nothing else just means good chica hand which is losing.


I know when I was playing mus in Spain in 1992/93 with my buddies Raquel, Virginia and Ana at high school in Madrid the standard level was so competitive and professional you had to be on your a game, any extravagant bluffing etc people would be reading your mind and face so astutely, good luck trying to fool them.

Pursing the lips indicating chica plus slightly extending the tongue would indicate two aces or more. A double blink after that four aces or a jaw jerk left there aces.



Actually I can't remember if it was Raquel and Ana or Alicia and Ana or Raquel and Alicia, just that one of the two had a boyfriend who was her f@ck buddy and a little older than her and the other two were single, one was kind of interesting looking and the other, Virginia has some blonde hair amongst her mostly brunette strands which is considered extremely desirable with the Spaniards where there's generally little blonde hair. Virginia generally wore black stockings and a miniskirt as I recall and was tall, slim and fairly pretty. One time she jumped on my back affectionately outside my classroom, piggy back style. Can't remember if she was in my classes which is odd as I was always in the same room with the same people. If there was an art class a model would come and potentially bare all or a lot. I didn't do art. This is not eyebrow raising with the Spaniards, nothing is except duples altos. Smoking on campus and eating sunflower seeds non stop average. Everyone wears denim or leather, including denim and leather shirts. Maybe 10% wear something else. Chewing sunflower seeds involves dehusking each one with the front two teeth, throwing the shell on the floor for the cleaners to sweep, swallowing the seed, repeating: forever. It's a common sight in Spain.

Mus visto. You're dealing in the mus phase and accidentally reveal a card face up while dealing it, mus visto is called and noone can cut the mus on that deal. Next deal if it's not mus visto they can say corta (cut).

Thinking about it, Virginia sat immediately in front of the teacher's desk. We had various teachers coming to us each period. Next to her or immediately behind her were the other two mus girls. Around me, next to me and in front of me were three stone cold losers. Nineteen year olds that had repeated three times despite being able to cheat more or less freely to pass exams in Spain. In Spain you advance only if you pass your class so a blind eye is turned for exam cheaters generally although not ridiculously, you have to be a sly and discreet cheat and organized and smart enough your notes written in small font on an elastic band up your sleeve or whatever gets you over the finish line. My boys were too dumb even for that and felt no shame whatsoever at their complete lack of academic prowess. One was a Moorish looking fellow as was his girlfriend. They cut a handsome match together in their everyday denim jackets and jeans (everyday). Denim. Everyday. El Chino (chinaboy) coz of his scrunched up eyes most likely had zero Asian blood but was the least dislikable. Then Gordo, fatty, was the nineteen year old I'd push off a cliff to a rocky bluff a football field's length below any day of the week even February 29. I would not play mus with these boys if you paid me, and I detested their presence everyday. Like hell. I have no respect for nineteen year olds sitting in a classroom full of sixteen year olds. None.

Xmas 1992 approaches and it's time to hit the road. Big wheels to Paris and a beeline to Jim Morrison's grave at Pere Lachaise. We just saw recently the touching sight of his father a navy admiral talking about setting up just that grave after he was notified by the Navy of his son's death in Paris. Generally I'm not a happy boy. Travelling alone as a minor is nothing special I'd been doing it for years already. I'm on my way to Amsterdam to visit my sister Trish and her partner Jorrik, a bass guitarist in a famous Dutch music ensemble. At Pere Lachaise I get a photo with my arms splayed on Jim's gravestone and crouching down. I don't remember much else but Paris seems interesting and sophisticated. Later I return for a six month stay mostly staying at 1 boulevard Pershing not far from the arch de triompe. I find the French language a challenging thing. I can't remember anything else like the trip to Amsterdam. Staying with my sister isn't much fun she's totally mean and hostile towards me as usual, poisoning our relationship for life beyond redemption due to her shitty attitude. Generally I'm unhappy and lonely but do not dwell on it. Also my brain is working overdrive the five months I'm in Spain gulping hundreds of words down ravenously until eventually I achieve great mastery of the language so that many Spaniards sincerely tell me, in later years, I speak better than they do. I never fell sorry for myself. And I'm always alone and isolated but kind of in an autistic way so there's like mental pain like if you're a vampire or something but whatever. It's a kind of hell. At least the people in Spain know how to act respectfully which is refreshing from Western Sydney.

Do you remember the Challenger disaster? I do. I remember my father was home watching it around 9am or so. Can't remember if it was a weekday or if my father had begun his years and years of working on the small three people or so team in Australia that actually tracked each space shuttle in orbit for NASA. This is because my father was an electrical engineer and was fortunate to be continuously put on the team for years that tracked the space shuttles for NASA from Tibindilla and Parkes for the government owned telephone service he worked for. I remember he was also tracking alot of Voyager 1 and 2 missions from the satellite dishes in aforementioned places around five hours south of Sydney. So I can't remember if all that work for him started before Challenger exploded or after or if it was a weekend or else why wasn't he at work. I'm guessing it was more like 730am on a weekday and before going to school and he had the day off work. Noone had to explain anything, it's clear to see what happened. I was only 9, just couple days after Australia day by the looks of it. Four months shy of ten. Long time ago. There was a woman teacher onboard I think.

When the shuttles and satellites orbited over Australia they weren't visible from the tracking stations in America so tracking them was outsourced to Telecom Australia which inevitably was done by my father and two or three other colleagues from Parkes and Tibindilla dishes and whatever staff were locally around. My father was driven, he completed a community college degree part time in electrical engineering in a second language while working full-time for the national Telecom company in that field. That was after getting a degree in law and economics in his own country at a prestigious university there. Not a practical man though, very flawed. But definitely driven.

We'll I'd forgotten about Colombia. After numerous satellite and shuttle tracking jobs in the 80s my father retired in 1996 with a redundancy when the national phone carrier was privatized. Unfortunately, like his own father realized after meeting his wife in Spain (my mom) in the 1960s, my grandfather, who  I'd never met but was apparently a shrewd businessman with various modest lines of business interests, quickly realized his future daughter in law was no good and didn't want her around. I totally understand why now. It's a pity my father chose to retire at 53. At the time I thought he'd earned it which he had but I realize my mother was a welfare mooch and would fake mental illness, whatever, for a free pension for herself and her hubby. With zero regards for taxpayers or her family or anyone. And in truth the lack of work over the decades constantly degraded her more and more. 53 is young to retire. Anyway Colombia was in orbit. I'd come from France and America and Spain and was heading to China and was in the middle of an eighteen month kind of Sydney Australia limbo. My mental state was really something else, but I never ever regretted not taking psychiatric meds and in those days self medicated with marijuana and beer. I was also disinterested in working. I remember Colombia going down but it was vague. Furthermore I actually saw a real spaceship around those dates, possibly a month later in March up close and personal plus Bush's war in Iraq kicked off on March 21st which was a big deal and something to follow.

Hello,

This letter is to confirm that I have only just today, the 20th January 2020, received a copy of Maria's medical record. This was
done by email from Karen McKenzie at NCAT. Due to the Privacy Act, there would never normally be a situation where I, Maria's son, would
be given a copy of her medical record or anything to do with her case file vis-a-vie NSW Government's socialist health care system.
(I note that Maria has never had any private health insurance so there is no relevant information from private health providers in
NSW). I do note that Maria has spent almost the entirety of her time in Australia since arriving first in Australia in 1971, in NSW State
and never any other Australian State or Territory and only one year of that time, since 1971, outside of Australia.

I reiterate, as it is important, that due to the Privacy Act, I have never been privy, before today, to access to any of Maria's medical
records, nor have I had any kind of guardianship or power of attorney relationship with her in the Law. Therefore normally when I deal
with numerous of NSW Government's socialist health care system workers (repeating again that Maria has never had private health care and
not due to a lack of money since her ninety thousand euro inheritance probably would have gotten her a goodly amount of private health care),
it is normally because they are coming to me to ask me for leverage in dealing with her, keeping in mind there is a lot of pressure on them
from pharmaceutical companies to sell drugs, and they have a duty of care to society to keep mentally unsound people safe for society
and themselves. I already have a strong case in the Civil Law to sue both NSW Govt. Healthcare as well as the Pharmaceutical companies in
general for stress to me caused by them and their incompetence.

To this last point, Maria is clearly asserting in the file I only received a moment ago today, that I gave her a 'black eye' by punching
her in the eye. I take offense at this. If Maria is presenting to her local GP every month for medication then it is incumbent on her GP
to report this to the NSW Police so that a perpetrator can be located and prosecuted. I would like to request to NCAT that they immediately
contact her local GP (something I have not, prior to today, been able to even know who they are due to the Privacy Act), to ask them about
any kind of black eyes or the like. If I see between our court date on February 20 and today or tomorrow when NCAT receives this email from
me that NCAT pursues an investigation with Maria's GP regarding her presenting to them with physical injuries from assaults or alleged
assaults, then I would be interested to attend the matter in person, otherwise it would be beneath my dignity and innappropriate for me to
attend in person due to my personal dignity/NSW Govt. competency issues). In any case I'll be happy to attend the February 20 meeting digitally
from a distance.


I refer you to page nine of the file I am referring to, section 3.2 which states: medical records indicated that follow up care has been
limited in the past due to her son Benjamin's alleged hostility towards Psychiatric services. In any Civil Action I might bring to NSW
Govt. Healthcare and various Pharmaceutical companies or relevant psychiatric societies and the like, I would articulate clearly that I have
been civil with NSW Govt's socialist (not private/user pays, but taxpayer-funded socialist), healthcare workers in every event. And I would
like to challenge NSW Govt's Healthcare to stipulate in writing where this has not been the case, as I shall now do, with regard to their
treatment of Maria. Given that Maria is prone to misrepresenting the truth and speaking falsehoods,  I have taken with a grain of salt some
of her accusations (she made to me) against NSW Govt. Healthcare workers over the years, many of said years being when I, myself, was a minor, which
I would also include as stress-causing (requiring compensation) in any future Legal Civil Action I might bring against NSW Health. Maria states she
has been assaulted by NSW Govt Healthcare workers a number of times and recently threatened with sexual assault at Auburn Hospital in 2017 from
another patient due to negligence from NSW Govt Healthcare workers or their partners in the Catholic Hospitals. If in any event NSW Govt. socialist
healthcare workers have felt mistreated by me they should certaintly seek civil or criminal action by calling 131444 or 000 or getting legal
advice. I am certainly free to have a sceptical opinion of NSW Govt' socialist healthcare system. I do not doubt that Maria feels stressed out
by NSW Govt. socialist healthcare system workers (as opposed to workers from the private sector with whom she has no dealings due to squandering
her inheritence to a confidence trickster and not being able to afford private healthcare therefore) as I have noticed them hounding her and bullying
her on a number of occasions.

I am glad this case file about Maria, the first, I repeat, that I have ever been privy to thanks to the Privacy Act, regarding Maria and her blessed all
important mental health, has mentioned the fact that an illegal alien suicided in her garage in late 2017. I have a very strong case in the Civil Law
to sue the metaphorical pants off the Federal Government for not properly taking care of illegal aliens they release into our society and leaving
them to roam the streets destitute and homeless. I will mention as an aside on Maria's dishonest and mean-spirited, extremely narcisstic character
where everything has to be about her and her mental health and how everyone's making life hard for her, that Maria did not hesitate to refer
to this poor gentleman that suicided in her garage from extreme and utter neglect from our Morrison federal government, as, quote, 'my boyfriend.'
What a hoot and a holler, implying this illegal alien that was suffering from alcoholism and God knows what psychiatric issues, was my 'boyfriend'.

I am principally only writing this letter today because I am actually very offended that Maria would allege I gave her a black eye. I repeat that
it is incumbent on NSW Health, the NSW Police and especially her GP that she is supposedly seeing regularly to report such matters and prosecute
them.

I wholeheartedly agree with Sherlyn Yeap's assessment that Maria is vulnerable to exploitation (financial). I do note, as a matter of dignity,
that there has been at least one case of Indians from the sub-continent of India, presenting as Doctors with false credentials who were not
actually doctors, who were practicing medicine for considerable periods of time in Australia before returning to India. I cannot categorically
state for a certainty that any of the psychiatrists or doctors deposing information in this case file on Maria are NOT actual doctors, but I would
assume they are. I am certainly free to have a poor opinion of Australia's socialist healthcare system and incredibly expensive Legal System

In conclusion, I reiterate to the relevant Authority, please invoke to NSW Office of Guardians and Trustees to manage Maria's Estate so that she
cannot be duped into Willing our Family Estate to a confidence trickster. I am getting completely the raw end of the stick in this situation, I should
be compensated hundreds and thousands of dollars by NSW Health for their gross incompetence and also by the Federal Government for the stress of having
an illegal alien suicide in my home. She has already squandered ninety thousand euro family inheritence and cannot be trusted to do what is right
by her children and grandchildren because she is not mentally fit. She has dementia and the doctors are reporting they mostly cannot even understand
what she is saying due to language issues. Maria is utterly dishonest and does not care about her family. She has very serious mental health
issues that have been conveniently lumped into the basket of 'psychosis' and prescribed a small amount of medications applicable for that condition.
These same medications are given anyway to the elderly these days in nursing homes in a gross human rights abuse and are offered to anyone that
presents to western Sydney mental health due to the incompetence of NSW's socialist healthcare system. I am tired of people calling me about my
mother's situation all the time, she is an absolute troublemaker and the most extremely narcisistic self obsessed person i've ever known, barring
some celebrity divas that I never knew personally. She will be easily duped to sign over our Family Estate that she never worked a day for to any
stranger with a five dollar Will kit from a post office and I will end up having to spend my children's inheritence money from my own Estate
bringing NCAT and NSW Health to Court due to gross incompetence.

I also categorically deny NSW Government socialist healthcare department's assertion that my sister, Raquel, was schizophrenic. It would be a lot fairer
to say her mother terrorized her with her precious 'schizophrenia'. In fact, often when Maria is referred to for mental healthcare it's because she's
making people feel like they are crazy, which, of course, in many cases they are, since it's normal to be a little crazy for everyone, (except our
blessed mental health care workers who are vulnerable due to everyday proximity with nutjobs which inevitably makes them crazy and desire strongly to
appear as very ridiculously incredibly sane.)  Anyone that turns up to their doorstep for help is 'schizophrenic' and needs to be drugged up so they can
get a big payday for themselves and big pharmaceutical companies. I knew my sister Raquel and she was a mid level manager at Microsoft and never had anything
to do with NSW socialist healthcare system her entire life until she decided to end her life, due to her own personal reasons which it is for God to judge,
not NSW government's socialist healthcare system. It's no pleasure for me to see a very rickety, insecure, government and society in Australia on a State
or Federal level, very obviously incompetent in many respects. I've travelled and worked all over the world a decade and never seen people that will label
you mentally ill for not agreeing with them e.g., because you don't like cricket or think the British Royal Family is God or whatever. The one NSW Govt
socialist healthcare worker I met in a social/business setting not related to my family was an absolute pervert and a despicable person by the looks of it
despite being able to show an excellent persona to the public: I had to give her and her boyfriend an UBER ride
home from a pervert sex club where they sat around watching other people have sex. I would not touch NSW Govt's socialist healthcare service with a
bargepole if I can avoid it and would prefer private healthcare. I also note NSW Government's socialist healthcare service has not referred to Maria's
husband as schizophrenic.

I can certainly refute that returning to Spain is an option for Maria as her family there have absolutely no interest in taking care of her and she is
not competent to buy an air ticket and get a hotel there and sell her house etc, as she would need to do to effect that favorite plan of hers. There are
numerous excellent aged care services in my local area, Hornsby, where the standard and character of the people is so high compared to the people of
Western Sydney, that I would strongly doubt they would mistreat Maria and it would be a close proximity to my wife that would be happy to visit her with
the grandchildren regularly, albeit briefly. Maria is so disinterested in her grandchildren and only interested to have company from adults so she can
proceed to talk about her favorite topic: herself and her precious all time best mate in the world, her husband (now deceased), but mostly just herself
as even he, great though he was, in Maria's eyes, was only a mere flitting background character in her marvellous imagination. It doesn't matter to
Maria if the adults are family or family friends or mental health workers, so long as she can talk about herself and her past which she loves to do.
It's hard for me to imagine an aged care facility that wouldn't tire of her but I have such a high opinion of the people of my local area and the north
shore in general should we locate Maria somewhere on the north shore that I would be happy to rent her house out and put the rental income to the
difference between her pension and the actual cost of a high scale aged care facility. I have already inspected one nearby my home, in Hornsby, which is
of a very high level and could be afforded by forwarding rent money from Maria's home, along with her pension, to the facility. I do not doubt Maria would
not rather sit around lonely, in her own house, daily taking a wicked delight with the constant cherishing of her ability to sign away our Family Estate,
which, I reiterate, she did not work even one day for, instead incurring tens of thousands of dollars of expenses to the taxpayer for mental health care
over the decades. I also strongly corroborate my sister Trish's affirming that Maria is higly manipulative and controlling. I have a very strong case in
the Civil Law to sue the NSW Government and the Federal Government for gross neglect as Maria should have been incarcerated for child abuse a long time
ago. In fact, I am very confident if I made it my life goal to sue the NSW and Federal Government for all the trouble they have caused me through ommission,
incompetence, enabling gross child abuse, and etc, I would make a small fortune. I am a real Australian patriot and would not easily be interested to
take that course of action, given the incredible amounts of money our State and Federal governments are already haemeraging daily due to waste, fraud
and abuse.
